The Moglianese Bebe Vio Grandis awarded the Treviso player Manuela Giugliano as the absolute MVP of the Serie A Women Athora

ROME – A year definitely to remember for Manuela Giugliano. The footballer from Istrana has been named the best overall player of the recently concluded Serie A Women Athora. The captain of Roma, fresh from winning the championship, was indeed decisive throughout the season with 12 goals scored and 5 assists.

But the satisfactions may not end here, with still at stake the Coppa Italia 2025 whose final will be held on Sunday, May 24 at 6 PM (live on Rai 2 and Sky Sport and streaming on RaiPlay and NOW) at the “Menti” Stadium in Vicenza between her Roma and Juventus.

Giugliano, at the second recognition after that of the 2023-24 championship, was awarded by another exceptional woman from Treviso, the Mogliano native Bebe Vio Grandis, and by the president of Serie A Women Federica Cappelletti. The best players by position and the Top 11 of the season were also awarded, with still a lot of Roma, the true star of the season.

The other awards

The best goalkeeper award went to Como Women player Astrid Gilardi. The best defender and best midfielder were the Nigerian giallorossa Shukurat Oladipo and her teammate Giulia Dragoni, who scored a brace against Genoa in the last matchday played last Saturday at Tre Fontane.

The MVP award for best striker was won by Inter’s Tessa Wullaert, the league’s top scorer with 14 goals. Crucial goals that helped Piovani‘s team secure second place and the subsequent qualification for the upcoming UEFA Women’s Champions League. The award for best Under 23 was finally given to the Spanish winger of Juventus, Estela Carbonell, born in 2004 and arrived last summer from Levante.

Astrid Gilardi also won the “Save of the Season” award (Como Women-Fiorentina, December 13), for the best save voted by a jury made up of journalists from RAI, DAZN, and Sky, broadcasters of the competitions organized by Serie A Women. The “Goal of the Season” was awarded to Valentina Bergamaschi during the Roma-Juventus match on December 6.

During ‘Athora Game On – All Stars Night’, the Top 11 of the season were also formed, both the absolute and the Under 23, awarded respectively by the National Team coach Andrea Soncin and the coordinator of the women’s youth national teams Enrico Sbardella.
