Coach Soncin has called up 29 players for the last two matches of Group A for World Cup qualification. Winning is mandatory and hoping for favorable results is essential.
TIRRENIA – This time there can be no mistakes. Italy must only win and hope for a misstep from Denmark to qualify for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil. The Azzurre are preparing to face the last two matches of the qualifying group against Serbia and Sweden. In Pisa on Friday, June 5 (6:15 PM, Rai 2) the first match, then flying to Gothenburg for the match against the Scandinavians on Tuesday the 9th (7 PM, Rai 2).
The situation is not simple with Soncin’s team, which has used up all available bonuses thanks to the two draws with the Danes. The standings in Group 1 see Denmark in first place with a one-point lead over Sweden and three over Italy. Only the first will go directly to Brazil, while the second-placed team will face the daunting play-off.
It was known from the beginning that the group would be difficult, but the mission can still be accomplished. The team will meet on Sunday, May 31, at the Olympic Preparation Center Tirrenia.
Returns to the group after a long time Elisa Bartoli. Joining her in the group are also Francesca Durante, Lisa Boattin, Federica D’Auria, and Barbara Bonansea, who were absent from the April gathering. First call-up for Lazio forward Noemi Visentin, alongside her teammate Margherita Monnecchi.
