The composers who have set the selected literary pieces to music are Ottorino Respighi, Mario Castelnuovo Tedesco, Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari, Ildebrando Pizzetti, Alfredo Casella, and Alberto Cara.
The texts of our literature were mostly poems, sonnets, and fables. The selected authors: Antonio Rubino, with his Deities of the Woods; Dante Alighieri, Francesco Petrarca, Trilussa, and Cesare Pavese, as well as an anonymous author with four verses.
The performers of this concert were exceptional: two soloists from the Academy of Lyric Arts of Osimo, Louise Guenter, soprano, and Hiroki Kono, tenor, and two pianists from the International Academy of Imola “Incontri col Maestro”, Giulia Iijima and Anastasia Fioravanti.
The concert was a beautiful discovery in its originality and highlighted both the vocal talents of the two singers and the performance skills of the two pianists.
Beyond the astonishment of hearing Dante Alighieri and Petrarch recited in perfect Italian by a Japanese person and the use of Romanesco by a French woman, the last performance was particularly successful.
To the music composed by Alberto Cara, performed four-handed on the piano and with two voices by the singers, the poem by Cesare Pavese I Will Pass Through Piazza di Spagna was recited.
Both the voices of the two singers and the hands of the two pianists perfectly and harmoniously blended in the performance.
Once again, this review has pleasantly surprised us. Therefore, we look forward to the final appointment on August 6 with Danilo Rossi and the Soloists of the Regional Orchestra Filarmonia Veneta, who will perform pieces of music composed by Brahms.
