THE HAGUE (NETHERLANDS) – A challenging debut for the Azzurrine at the Under 22 Women’s European Championships. A match with two directions against Poland. Two first sets dominated by ItalVolley, led by Merit Adigwe with a total of 19 points and Alila Marchesini with 9 blocks and a 45% attack rate. Then came the comeback from the opponents.
Finally, the tie break that settles the score won by the team of CT Nino Gagliardi. It ends 3-2 (25-22, 25-16, 19-25, 21-25, 15-11),
The Azzurrine will return to the field this evening at 7:30 PM to face the European vice-champions of the category, Serbia (with Italy being the champion in 2024).

The formula
After the group stage, which lasts three competition days, from July 7 to 9, the teams will have a rest day before competing in the semifinals, to which the top two teams from each group will qualify. The semifinals will take place on Saturday, July 11, and the finals for the gold and bronze medals will be held on Sunday, July 12.
