The Veneto Region announces exceptional results in the implementation of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR), far exceeding the targets set in the Employment Guarantee Program (GOL) and making significant investments in the tourism sector. With over 280,000 beneficiaries reached and a total financial commitment of 332 million euros, Veneto positions itself as a model of efficiency and foresight in managing European funds, demonstrating remarkable administrative capacity in transforming national directives into concrete actions for the well-being of the community.

The Vice President and Regional Councillor for Labour and Tourism, Lucas Pavanetto, enthusiastically commented on the achievements, emphasizing how the Region has not only met but even surpassed the regional targets of the GOL program, a crucial initiative for post-pandemic employment recovery. “Not only have we reached the regional target in the GOL program – Employment Guarantee for Workers, but additional beneficiaries have been trained beyond the numbers required under the PNRR,” Pavanetto stated, highlighting the commitment made. “As of April 30, 2026, 281,636 beneficiaries have been reached, 115% of the expected target. This figure is not just a number, but represents thousands of stories of people who have found new opportunities or strengthened their skills.
The regional administration has demonstrated great efficiency for the benefit of workers, the territory, and the regional economy. It has successfully seized the opportunities offered by the PNRR in one of the sectors, the labor market, that must confront the new socio-economic context, the demographic challenge, and the issue of skill mismatch. I thank the offices for this important result, the fruit of a synergistic and constant effort.”
These results take on even greater significance in light of the upcoming deadline of June 30, 2026, for the National Recovery and Resilience Program, which imposes tight schedules and ambitious goals. By December 2025, the targets had already been significantly exceeded, with a total of 264,117 beneficiaries having embarked on training or retraining paths. The most recent data, updated as of April 30, 2026, highlight further significant progress: 92,992 people have completed specific training paths, while 37,732 users have undergone digital training, essential in the current job landscape.
The strategy adopted by the Region has focused on the real needs of the local labor market, offering diversified and targeted paths. 66% of beneficiaries have undertaken Upskilling paths, that is, short or medium-term training aimed at rapid re-employment or updating existing skills, a figure that reflects the dynamism and flexibility required by the market. 19% opted for re-employment, aimed at those needing to strengthen their skills, particularly digital ones, to fill minor gaps. Only 11% followed the Reskilling path, dedicated to long-term retraining for those needing a radical career change, demonstrating careful planning for the different categories of workers.
In addition to success in the labor sector, Veneto has made significant strides in enhancing tourism attractiveness, a fundamental pillar of the regional economy, thanks to interventions funded by the Complementary National Plan (PNC). A striking example is the “Integrated Project for Enhancing the Tourism Attractiveness of the Po Delta Park Areas,” developed in close collaboration with the Emilia-Romagna Region and the respective Park Authorities. This project, with a total value of 55 million euros, has allocated 25 million euros specifically to the Veneto Region, with the ambitious goal of enhancing an area of invaluable natural, landscape, and cultural value, recognized even at the UNESCO level.
Investments in the Po Delta have already led to concrete and tangible results that are transforming the territory. 13 of the 14 piers planned in the river and lagoon area have been completed, with a financial commitment of 1.5 million euros, improving access and usability of waterways. Additionally, two hybrid trains have been purchased for a value of 3.5 million euros, an important step towards more sustainable mobility and improved accessibility for visitors. At the same time, significant cycling infrastructure is being developed, such as the famous VENTO and ADRIATICA bike paths, which include the construction of new walkways and pedestrian paths, as well as strategic connections with railway hubs. These interventions aim to promote slow, eco-friendly tourism that respects the environment, in line with modern trends and sustainability needs.
The recovery and enhancement of environmental and cultural heritage continue with determination. The renovation of the former CEAC center, the Marine Turtle Recovery Center of Ca’ Pisano in Porto Viro, a 1 million euro intervention, is currently in the testing phase, representing an important safeguard for marine biodiversity. Meanwhile, the final design for the enhancement of the archaeological and tourist sites of Adria, San Basilio, and Loreo is underway, with completion expected by 2028. These projects promise to further enrich the cultural and tourist offerings of the region, attracting visitors interested in local history and traditions, and consolidating Veneto as a top-notch destination in every aspect.
The success of Veneto in implementing the PNRR, both in the GOL program and in strategic tourism investments, highlights a proactive, efficient, and targeted management of resources. The regional approach, focused on the concrete needs of the labor market and the enhancement of natural and cultural heritage, has not only allowed for the surpassing of the quantitative objectives set by the Plan but has also laid solid foundations for sustainable and inclusive growth. These results strengthen Veneto’s position as a leading region, capable of transforming complex challenges into concrete and lasting opportunities for its citizens and for its economic and social development, confidently projecting itself into the future.
