While Max Iota is a professional with an established career, Daniel Gwon was the winner of the Iris Adami Corradetti Competition and participated in the Toti Dal Monte competition in Treviso. Forooz Razavi, on the other hand, distinguished herself with the second prize at the International Singing Competition Vox Futuri held in Padua in 2026.
Also a guest of the evening was little Lisa, one of the soloists of the Treviso Municipal Children’s Choir – Teatro Mario Del Monaco, recently established by the municipal administration, drawing on the valuable experience as the choir of the Manzato Musical Institute and directed since its foundation by Livia Rado. The girl sang a piece from Tosca “Io de’Sospiri”.
All the soloists received a lot of applause, but the performance of the Orchestra della Filarmonia Veneta conducted by Maestro Gerardo Felisatti was also very well received, distinguished by his established professionalism as well as his grace and kindness.
A very successful evening that was well received by the audience, even though only three of the performed pieces were known to most of the attendees. It was therefore an opportunity, thanks to the always professional and highly prepared Elena Filini, to enhance the musical culture of genre enthusiasts, in a crowd that was certainly not niche, but rather mainstream.
It is precisely for this evening concert that the square has dressed in blue, with lighting designed by Mayor Mario Conte since last year, as mentioned in the opening greetings by Ass. De Gregorio, and this year the organization has achieved excellent results.
The concert began with the overture from The Secret of Susanna by E. Wolf-Ferrari to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth, performed by the Orchestra della Filarmonia Veneta, conducted by Maestro Gerardo Felisatti.
Then the elegant Elena Filini intervened, who as the presenter of the event explained the common thread that would connect the various pieces proposed in the concert. In fact, the theme of this year’s traditional Assunta Concert in Treviso was “The Beat of Ink: Casa Sonzogno.”
The event took place through a tribute and a narrative and musical journey dedicated to the historic music publishing house and its role in Italian melodrama between the 19th and 20th centuries. The main tribute focused on the story of Edoardo Sonzogno and his eponymous publishing house, which challenged the monopoly of Casa Ricordi and launched young talents.

The heartbeat of ink: Casa Sonzogno
In Piazza Santa Maria Maggiore on Saturday, August 15 at 9 PM, a secular rite very dear to the people of Treviso was celebrated. More than 1200 people were able to enjoy the Assunta Concert, offered by the Municipal Administration of Treviso on the occasion of the religious rite, which instead takes place in the morning inside Madonna Granda, one of the churches most cherished by the people of Treviso.
This is a historical reenactment of an event that took place more than seven hundred years ago, when Gherardo da Camino, then lord of Treviso, promised the Virgin, with a solemn vow made in 1302, an annual candle on the day of the Assumption if the city achieved victory in the war against the Patriarch of Aquileia. Thus it happened, and the rite began.
And to commemorate it, there is also a large commemorative painting from 1996 signed by E. Marchesini on the right wall of the presbytery.
A tradition then resumed in 1946, after the bombing on April 7, 1944, and the reconstruction of the damaged part of the Sanctuary. This year the ceremony was particularly special because it marked the 80th anniversary of the restoration of the city’s offering and the lighting of the candle to the Madonna.
