Introducing the new Home and Away kits 2026/27 created by Macron for the Italian men’s and women’s rugby national teams
BOLOGNA – The new jerseys of Italrugby have been officially unveiled. If last year the National teams wore a kit inspired by Italian classicism, the new Home and Away Kit 2026/27 created by Macron, the technical partner of FIR, is inspired by Futurism, an artistic movement that made energy, speed, and dynamism its distinctive traits.
The first to wear them will be the Azzurri of Gonzalo Quesada who, after recently completing the first part of the Nations Championship with the matches played in the southern hemisphere, will resume their journey in this new competition in November with matches against South Africa, Argentina, and Fiji.
The new Home Kit 2026/27
Used for both National Teams, male and female, the new Home Kit 2026/27 is in the traditional blue color with a crew neck featuring a tricolor detail. The entire graphic is inspired by Futurism with broken lines, geometric shapes, and dynamic trajectories for a continuous movement.
It transitions from tone-on-tone to other elements that recall the colors of the Italian flag, creating a composition that expresses energy, speed, and strength, values that find a natural correspondence in contemporary rugby.
On the chest, on the right, the Macron Hero is embroidered in white, while on the left there is the emblem of the Italian Rugby Federation. Inside the collar, there is a personalized black tape with the writing “THE POWER AND THE SPEED” alternating with the FIR logo. Additionally, on the back bottom of the shirt, the word ITALY appears in embossing. The kit is completed with shorts that reflect the design of the shirt, featuring white drawstrings and tricolor tips, and blue socks.
The new Away Kit 2026/27
As for the away kit, it is based on a white background and further enhances the tricolor through a graphic that develops on the front body, shoulders, and sleeves. In this case, the design is also inspired by the principles of Futurism, with geometric elements that intersect and overlap, generating a strong sense of movement and depth.
Inside the collar, the custom tape featuring the text “THE POWER AND THE SPEED,” is repeated, while the embroidered Macron Hero and the sleeve edges are in navy blue. Again, on the back bottom of the shirt, the word ITALY is embossed. The kit is completed with navy blue shorts equipped with white drawstrings with tricolor tips and white socks finished with a navy blue upper border.
The inner backneck of both kits features a custom label with the distinctive graphics of the kits as a background, the FIR logo, the text “POWER AND SPEED,” the Macron logo, and the phrase “Designed in Bologna,” as a testament to how each piece is conceived, designed, and developed at the Macron Campus.
As in this case, like all the kits made by Macron for its federations and partner teams, the new jerseys of Italrugby are made from Eco Fabric, fabrics made from 100% post-consumer recycled polyester. The main material used is Eco Armevo, developed to ensure maximum durability even during the most intense phases of the game. The presence of inserts in Eco Bodytex and Eco Strong Mesh also ensures lightness, comfort, and excellent breathability.
