The celebrations for the Centenary of Piazza Caduti took place yesterday in Mogliano Veneto. A truly special day that saw a large participation of Citizens
Mogliano Veneto (TV) – Everything took place according to schedule, from the start of the grand parade at 9:30 AM, from via Sciesa, to the arrival in Piazza dei Caduti, where the Citizens participated in the celebrations and, in the end, enjoyed the rich refreshment organized by the Pro Loco.
Organized by the Municipality of Mogliano Veneto, the Armed Associations, the Pro Loco, and the Mayor’s office, the event was attended by numerous civil and military associations from the area.
The extraordinary participation of the Fanfare of the Alpine Brigade “Julia”, the Band “Ciro Bianchi – Musical Band, Majorettes and Choir” from Cittadella, and the Musical Group City of Mogliano Veneto, pleasantly entertained the honored guests Aimone of Savoy, Duke of Savoy and Duke of Aosta, a direct descendant of Commander of the Third Army Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy, Duke of Aosta, who was based in Mogliano Veneto.
Highly esteemed guest Sébastien Leclerc, Mayor of Lisieux, a French town twinned with Mogliano.
Today we made history!
Mayor Davide Bortolato, excited about the day, wrote in a post: “Today we made history! Seeing our square filled with citizens, families, and children filled me with joy. Celebrating the hundred years of the Town Hall, the Square, and the Monument to the Fallen was a unique moment that I will hardly forget, first of all as a citizen, and then as Mayor.
Seeing the associations parade and crossing the gazes of so many people was extraordinary: I felt a strong pride in being from Mogliano and being part of a united community. This anniversary reminded us of our city’s important past and encourages us to reinforce the fundamental values of peace and civil coexistence 
A special thanks to my friend Sébastien Leclerc, Mayor of Lisieux, and to Prince Aimone of Savoy, who has rekindled the thread of history with his great-grandfather Duke of Aosta, who inaugurated these spaces exactly a century ago.
The biggest thanks goes to all those who worked day and night behind the scenes and to each of you present in the square. Today Mogliano has shown to have a huge heart. Long live Mogliano Veneto! Long live Italy!”.
