Signed the protocol among 14 municipalities to promote the area between the Sile and the Venice Lagoon
MOGLIANO VENETO. A new project for territorial tourism promotion is taking shape between the provinces of Treviso and Venice. Today, at the “Antonio Caregaro Negrin” Cultural Park in Mogliano Veneto, the memorandum of understanding for the establishment of the Venice Garden Area Brand was signed, an initiative that brings together 14 municipalities with the aim of coordinated enhancement of the environmental, cultural, historical, and gastronomic heritage of an area that extends from the springs of the Sile to the Venice Lagoon.
“The birth of Venice Garden represents the result of a collaborative journey that has managed to overcome administrative boundaries to build a shared vision of the territory. Networking 14 municipalities means enhancing a widespread heritage of landscapes, culture, history, and traditions, creating new development opportunities for local communities and for the economic activities operating in the tourism sector,” declares the Mayor of Mogliano Veneto, Davide Bortolato.
“Two and a half years of work have led us to this result. Venice Garden was created to give the territory a unique voice and a greater capacity for promotion, networking resources, skills, and projects that until now have operated in a fragmented way,” adds the Councillor for Tourism, Giorgio Copparoni.
The mayors of the municipalities participating in the project took part in the signing, which identifies the Municipality of Mogliano Veneto as the leading entity of the process.
The Area Brand involves the municipalities of Casale sul Sile, Casier, Istrana, Marcon, Mogliano Veneto, Monastier di Treviso, Morgano, Preganziol, Quarto d’Altino, Quinto di Treviso, Roncade, San Biagio di Callalta, Silea, and Zenson di Piave.
The project originates from a collaborative journey initiated in recent years among local administrations to build a shared vision for the area’s tourism development. The goal is to strengthen the identity of a territory characterized by the presence of the Sile River, Venetian villas, the Terraglio, cycling and walking routes, gastronomic excellences, and proximity to internationally renowned attractions such as Venice, the Dolomites, and the Prosecco Hills.
According to the data analyzed during the preparatory phase, the area records almost 750 thousand tourist presences per year. An important foundation on which to build new promotion and hospitality strategies, with the aim of increasing the average stay of visitors, better distributing flows across the territory, and creating new development opportunities for local economic activities.
The protocol provides for the implementation of shared initiatives for territorial promotion, the development of common communication and reception tools, the involvement of tourism operators and local associations, and the definition of a unified governance capable of coordinating the activities of the Area Brand. The process is also part of the collaboration with the DMO Marca Treviso and the regional strategies for sustainable tourism development.
With today’s signing, a new phase of collaboration officially begins among the participating municipalities, with the intention of promoting the area as an integrated destination, connecting landscape, culture, nature, slow mobility, and quality of life.
