The fifth edition will traverse the historic center through ups and downs, dirt roads, and cobblestones. Alongside the traditional 10 kilometers, a shorter route is introduced, designed especially for walkers and enthusiasts of Nordic walking and fitwalking.
TREVISO – Treviso is back to running and walking off-road. Friday, September 25 marks the fifth edition of the Treviso Urban Trail – CentroMarca Banca, a unique nighttime running event that will wind through the ups and downs, dirt paths, and cobblestones of the historic center.
The initiative aims to recreate in the heart of the city the variety of scenarios typical of an off-road race in a hilly environment. It is organized by Asd Corritreviso, a sports club that has been managing the eponymous road event at the beginning of June since 1990 and that in 2015 contributed to the creation of Treviso in Rosa, the most participated women’s race in Italy, which this year has also surpassed 10 thousand registered participants.
The first four editions of the Treviso Urban Trail – CentroMarca Banca have involved a total of over three thousand athletes. The 2026 event will introduce a novelty: alongside the traditional 10-kilometer route, there will be a new 5-kilometer track, designed especially for those who prefer to walk or are not used to tackling longer distances.
“The goal – explains Enrico Caldato, president of Asd Corritreviso, a club that has been bringing its athletes to run in the historic center every Wednesday evening for years – is to broaden the audience of participants: regardless of the characteristics of the course, 10 kilometers can be a lot for those who do not train regularly or prefer to walk rather than run. Five kilometers, on the other hand, is a distance suitable for everyone, not too long nor too short: walkers, fitwalking and nordic walking enthusiasts, and casual athletes are invited.”
The route will be similar to the one successfully tested in previous editions. Departure and arrival will be at the Walls, at the Bastione San Marco, while runners and walkers will cross the heart of the city, also passing through Piazza dei Signori.
The departure will be at 9 PM, half an hour later than usual. Each participant must use a headlamp or flashlight: hundreds of beams of light will illuminate the path, making the moonlit run even more enchanting and spectacular.
The Treviso Urban Trail – CentroMarca Banca is open to everyone. The 10-kilometer race will be offered both in a competitive version, with rankings and prizes, and in a recreational version, without competitive aims. The new 5-kilometer will instead have exclusively a recreational character.
“All participants, regardless of the chosen distance, will receive a rich race pack including the official technical t-shirt and other surprises,” adds Caldato.
Registrations will remain open until Wednesday, September 23. In the absence of sold out, it will also be possible to register on the afternoon of Friday, September 25, directly at the race secretariat set up on the Walls.
