Coach Neven Spahija’s team has started preparations with medical check-ups, media day, and group activities. On Sunday, August 23, the first meeting with fans in the Belluno Dolomites
The 2026/27 season of Umana Reyer Venezia has officially begun. The men’s first team gathered at the Palasport Taliercio under the guidance of coach Neven Spahija and his staff, starting preparations for the upcoming official commitments.
Absent from the gathering were captain Amedeo Tessitori, Leonardo Candi, Kyle Wiltjer, and Louis Olinde, engaged with their respective National teams. After the tests and medical examinations conducted in the previous days, the players participated in the traditional season-opening photo session.
The inaugural press conference was held with president Federico Casarin and coach Spahija, who presented the goals and prospects for the new season. The full speeches are available on the Reyer Venezia YouTube channel.

Participating in the first day were Octavio Maretto, Giovanni De Nicolao, Ky Bowman, Sir’Jabari Rice, Enoch Boakye, Giga Janelidze, Jordan Parks, Glyn Watson Jr, and Sasha Grant.
The team has also added the tall player Giovanni Pini, who will participate in the preparation phase.
The technical staff is led by Neven Spahija, assisted by Lele Molin, Alberto Billio, Veljko Perovic, and Marco Mainente. The fitness trainers are Matteo Xalle and Giovanni Basso.
A meeting to strengthen the group
The day concluded with a private meeting at the Park Hotel Ai Pini di Mestre, organized to strengthen the bond between the players and the staff. Also present were the young talents from the academy Davide Marini, Gabriele Turconi, Lucian Dontu, Gabriele Sarghini, and Federico Fasolo, confirming the connection between the first team and the orogranata youth sector.
Sunday the transfer to Falcade
In the afternoon of Sunday, August 23, Umana Reyer will reach Falcade, in the Belluno Dolomites, for the traditional preseason retreat.
The first appointment is scheduled for 6:30 PM at the Sporthotel Cristal, where the team presentation and a meet & greet open to fans will take place. From here, the journey towards the first official commitments of the new season will begin.
